Support for families with children affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine
Since 2022, Charitable Organization "Charitable Foundation Winds of Change" is implementing the project “Complex emergency response in Odesa region, Mykolaiv region and government - control areas of Kherson region to cater to the needs of children, parents and caregivers affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine”, with the support of representative office of the UN Children's Fund UNICEF in Ukraine. Thanks to close cooperation with the UNICEF office in Ukraine and local authorities, we can provide high-quality and diverse assistance to children and families with children in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. Till now we have provided various assistance to 70 000 children and parents, deepened the knowledge of more than 2 000 teachers and representatives of local authorities who work with children. Also we distributed about 4 000 different humanitarian aid kits. At the initial stage of the project, a special children's room functioned at the Odesa railway station, which was visited by 6 000 parents with children who were forced to leave their homes as a result of the armed conflict. We also opened 4 child friendly spaces in the communities of the Odesa region, 20 catch-up classes in the communities of the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. As well in Odessa, 3 shelters (apartments) were renovated and opened for women with children who suffered or witnessed gender-based violence
